Art and The Workshop

There's art on the walls as well as in the chairs here!

The Workshop supports local artists, and you can see their work throughout the salon.

Currently, we're showcasing two artists-

There are several framed Giclee prints by Marty E. Pease on display.
Her ancestors founded Martha's Vinyard, and you can enjoy her contemporary depictions of the island's scenery.

You can also see some lovely photographs by Dickie's dear friend Pat Kaplan. She's one of those artists whose work deserves far more credit than it's received so far!

Well-known architect Dean Sakamoto incorporated Dickie in a public art series in New Haven- if you walked up to this station, you could hear Dickie talk about redevelopment in New Haven. It now resides in the salon!

You can even find a painting by Dickie himself if you look around...

We were sad to learn that expressionist painter Lester Johnson, one of Dickie's clients, passed on this summer (June 2010). You can read the NYT obituary here. He will be missed.

There are a million ways to be beautiful. We help you create your style.
